If you’ve ever picked up a Harry Potter book, you know that Lord Voldemort is one of the most evil villains ever. No one in the books (except for Harry, because he’s a badass) mentions Voldemort’s name because merely the sound of it is so threatening. So, naturally, Lance Armstrong feels that they have something in common.

“Who’s that character in Harry Potter they can’t talk about? Voldemort? It’s like that on every level. If you watch the Tour on American TV, if you read about it, it’s as if you can’t mention him,” Armstrong told a group of journalists yesterday when discussing his return to France for an organized charity ride that follows the course of the 2015 Tour de France.

While he’s merely saying his name conjures up so many bad memories that it’s avoided, he has also admitted to being “a complete dick for a long time," when discussing what he feels like can apologize for. He still holds that he's not sorry for everything, but he is sorry for the disappointment he caused fans. 

He should probably just take comfort that he has a better nose than He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
