As gravel tires get wider, and with some bike brands adding suspension to their gravel bikes, dropper posts are the natural next step for gravel riders who prefer more technical terrain.

The G Series post is designed to shed mud while also being saddlebag- and bikepacking pannier-friendly thanks to an inverted design. It weighs in at a reported 375 grams (but can be trimmed to reduce weight) and is 27.2mm in diameter. It also includes shims to allow the post to be used on frames that require 30.9mm or 31.6mm seatposts.

“Gravel riding and racing is dynamic and having a dropper post in your toolbox can provide riders with a meaningful advantage due to the increase in control and therefore confidence that lowering your center of gravity delivers. With that in mind, we set out to develop a lightweight dropper post that ensured confidence inspiring reliability in every aspect,” stated VP of Consumer Experience, Jake Pantone.

The G Series Dropper will work with most cable-actuated dropper post remote levers, though Enve also offers a lever kit for internally routed frames.

"Nearly as challenging as the post design itself was the design of our new dropper post lever. It is both challenging from a spatial packaging standpoint and a functional ergonomic standpoint,” Pantone explained. "The design features a dual actuation push and pull design that allows actuation from the hoods and the drops. In addition, the lever is canted and textured for improved function and ergonomics.”

For riders who struggle with technical descents on gravel courses, a dropper may help improve feelings of stability and control by making trickier sections easier to navigate. Of course, honing your gravel skills by practicing on technical terrain is more important than any one piece of gear, but small advantages can make a difference on race day.

The G Series Dropper Post and Lever are available now. The dropper post retails for $325, while the dropper post lever retails for $65.
